Shanghai Zhimeng Biopharma Inc. is a new startup biotech company focusing on discovery and development of novel drugs for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B (CHB) and severe neurological diseases with great unmet medical need. Located in the famous “China Pharma Valley” --- Shanghai Zhangjiang High-Tech Park, the company has established rich developmental pipelines to both disease areas.

The Senior/Executive Medical Director/Vice President will lead one or more development programs involving our drug candidates in epilepsy, pains, depression, and stroke diseases. The initial focus will be in designing and executing clinical trials in early clinical development.

You will have opportunity to lead multiple early stage assets and neurology disease areas. You will be responsible for advancing clinical programs through study design and execution, development of biomarker strategies (for patient enrollment and treatment outcome monitoring), and interpretation of data from clinical studies. You will engage with key external partners and KOLs in the medical and scientific communities. You will interact with Chinese and global regulatory authorities. You will present study results in major global scientific conferences.

You will have the following mix of professional and personal skills:
  • Depending your level, 10 to 20-year industry experience in clinical research and drug development of neurological drugs
  • Deep understanding of basic sciences related to various neurological disorders
  • Excellent network with experts and KOLs in the medical and scientific communities
  • Strong leadership and team building skills, and excellent organizational skills
  • Able to perform effectively in a fast-moving and highly dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated strategic and critical thinking, including strong problem identifying and solving, conflict resolution, and decision making
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in both Chinese and English
  • Education
    • MD / PhD in Neuroscience training
